The Southern Steel Guitar Convention will be held on Sunday, May 15, in Saluda, South Carolina. This event happens 4 times a year, giving players in the region a chance to gather in fellowship and hear some great steel playing. Admission is $15, and all profits from the show are donated to Shriners Hospitals for Children via the Saluda Shrine Club.
The featured "headliner" players will be Mike Sweeney and Herby Wallace, both from Tennessee. A top-notch band backs up all of the performers. There is also a pre-show jam on Saturday night, from 7 to 11 PM (admission $5).
